Kia ora! I'm Toni Walker,
Born in Tairawhiti but a Hawkes Bay local since the age of 10, and it’s my joy to walk alongside you as your midwife on this wondrous hīkoi (journey) to parenthood. Rooted in my Māori heritage and the spirit of our beautiful region, I bring a blend of traditional mātauranga (knowledge) and contemporary midwifery to provide care that respects both our tūpuna (ancestors) and your family’s needs.
My approach is whānau-centered, ensuring that you feel supported, empowered, and connected throughout your hapūtanga (pregnancy) and beyond. We will honor the wairuatanga (spirit) and mana of your pepe (baby) in every step, creating a space that deeply respects our cultural values and the local community we both cherish.
Let’s embark on this beautiful path together, supported by the wisdom of our ancestors and the strength of our Hawkes Bay community.
He waka eke noa - we are all in this together.

A little about me...
I am a mother of 2 glorious tamahine (daughter's), and I whangai another 4 children with my tāne.
Prior to midwifery I was a carer at Princess Alexandra in Napier, this helped influence me to lean towards "kaitiaki te ora" (carer of life) instead of "mauri te mate" (managing the departed), I enjoy the company of whanau in nature with our 2 kuri.
One of my main goals in midwifery is to help mothers and whanau to achieve a warm healthy environment in their kainga that will allow our pepe to flourish.
